FSM = Federico Secondo Matta who purchased Castello Vicchiomaggio in 1964.
FSM has taken on all the flavours and charm of its hilltop vineyard and is often not recognized as Merlot. A true expression of terroir thanks to very strict pruning which limits production to no more than 3,500 bottles per vintage but often less. Deep ruby red, intense and complex on the nose with hints of ripe dark fruits and berries. Smooth satin tannins and a good firm acidity confirm the considerable maturation potential of this rare wine. The first vintage was 2003.
